SALIC formed a joint venture with Bunge (one of the main players in grain trading) to develop grain operations in Canada. The joint venture, G3 Global Holding, acquired a majority stake in the Canadian Wheat Board and is currently building new silos and a grain export terminal. When current construction projects are completed, G3 Global Holding will have up to 11 million tons of grains and oilseeds throughput per year and will become in the top 3 of the highest capacity grain handling companies in Canada.
